Jjimdak,

In South Korea, everything is about food. The TV shows are about food, during the talk shows, they eat and after lunch you are already thinking about what to eat next. Even though Korean food is nothing popular around the world, it's really a big deal here and also around South East Asia.

A question I get a lot, and almost everyday is: "What Korean food do you like the most?" It took me a long time to figure out what dish I like the most. Finally, today I realized, that Jjimdak is the ultimate favorite. Jjimdak is basically boiled chicken in soya sauce with noodles, tteokbokki (rice cake), onion, egg etc. This dish has caused me many food comas, but you just can't stop eating.

Today, I took my latinas for dinner to my favorite jjimdak restaurant and they also loved it. Nubdi from Panama and Marita from Peru, who is also my roommate this semester.

What have been the most giving experience in South Korea has not only been to get to know a lot of korean people, but also to create friendships with people from all around the world. Hear their stories, how they like it here and what they find different and difficult from their home country.
